Social Networks in Adolescent Mental Health: An Existing Problem?

The purpose of this research is to determine how social networks affect adolescents' mental health. Currently, the users who use these virtual platforms are the youngest, who are in a stage of many psychological changes, which is why they are more likely to develop an addiction. The objective of this research is to analyze the theoretical and empirical studies regarding the negative impact that social networks have on adolescents. A review of articles was carried out in databases such as Scielo, Redalyc and repositories regarding the impact of social networks on the mental health of adolescents in Lima, in order that users know the consequences of the constant use of social networks. In summary, it is concluded that in excessive use of the social networks have a negative effect on young people, causing psychological, social and physical problems.
