Abstract

The preservation of audiovisual documents in Peru today is scarce and little researched in archival management. This article makes an exploratory and descriptive analysis of the history of the preservation of audiovisual documents from its beginnings to the present, focusing on the most important audiovisual archives in Latin America and Peru. This contribution seeks to understand how awareness of audiovisual preservation has evolved and the current focus on audiovisual archives that preserve the national audiovisual heritage in Latin America.
