This article uses the sociological category of “liquid modernity” coined by Zygmunt Bauman to analyze some of the most salient characteristics of contemporary society. After presenting a synthetic and panoramic vision of the history of ethics, the author makes a contrast between the liquidity of modern times and the solidity of the values that must be transmitted to the new generations. In this way, in the absence of consistent moral reference points and in the midst of a globalized world, values can contribute to the moral regeneration of the West, including those of the native Andean peoples.
