The current research has the purpose of demonstrating the level of influence of the LEE comprensivamente program based on a metacognitive approach proposed by Gottheil et al. (2013). This program was applied to third grade section “C” primary students at a religious private school in Santa Anita district in order to develop their reading comprehension skills. The study is preexperimental. In order to measure the dependent variable, the ACL-3 test was applied at the beginning and at the end of the experiment. Th e test was designed by Catalí , G., Catalí , M., Molina, E. and R. Monclús (2001). The instrument measures the students´ reading comprehension level regarding four dimensions: literal, reorganizing, inferential and critical. The results demonstrated that the LEE comprensivamente metacognitive program influences the development of reading comprehension in three dimensions: literal, inferential and critical.
