The political life of Mexico during its first decades of independent life appears unstable and confusing. This study presents a concise and intelligible synthesis of this historical process, considering the facts and the ideas. It analyzes the configuration of the political thought of the Mexican liberalism, its materialization in a political party and its rise to power.
