The Liber de Pia Educatione is a pedagogic opuscule written by the Carmelite Spanish Juan de San pedro Ustárroz (P. Juan de Jesus Maria) in the year 1606 in order that it was serving as guide of the teachers of newly founded Pious (Piebald) Schools in Rome. Its presence in numerous libraries of the first communities founded by the nascent Order confi rms I inflict and importance that the above mentioned opuscule had in the educational practice of the schools of Calasanz”™s San Jose. In spite of its practical character we can select some elements fundantes that allow us to guess the concept of education that sublies in this writing. For it we will attend so much to the literary as ideological context of the opuscule to explain the concept of anthropology, of the teacher and of the education that we perceive our author had. With regard to the used methodology one has chosen to come to the hermeneutics of the classic ones of the western thought proposed by the Dr. Josef Pieper. There has been understood that it was adapted suitably to the object to studying.
