Statement of a Nation State in News of a Kidnapping

Abstract

Taking as a reference the journalistic novel News of a Kidnapping (1996) of the Nobel Prize for Literature of Colombia, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, investigated the concept of victim, proposed by Olga Islas de Gonzalez, with the intention of raising the need that the text requires on the search for a nation state, justified in the practice of democracy, freedom of expression, compliance with laws and the Constitution: in opposition to
what was shown in the macrocriminal period of the last two decades of the twentieth century in Colombia. All of this is shown with the purpose of identifying the role of the agencies in charge of counteracting the deficiencies of Colombian society, through the Police (as the fact of safeguarding citizen security, which would be possible with further investigation on their part and an improvement in the field of Criminalistics). It is also useful to apply the laws (Decrees 2047/1990, 3030/1990 and 303/1991) that are established to reduce narco-terrorism in that country, especially to request the extradition of the members of the Medellin Cartel to United States, where the sanctions for these related crimes was the death penalty.
