Studium Veritatis is an annual magazine which is edited by Universidad Católica Sedes Sapientiae”™s Fondo Editorial. It publishes original and unpublished researches as well as scientific-academic papers. It is dedicated to the academic community of researchers in different areas.

Studium Veritatis is organized in four sections: a) Alma máter, which contains studies and documents related to our university mission and vision; (b) Studies, which is devoted to scientific articles; (c) Interviews, which is designated for conversations with academic and scientific celebrities (d) Reviews, which contains analytical and critical ideas on books and academic events.

GUIDELINES FOR ARTICLE SUBMISSIONS

  1. The article must be an original and unpublished version (printed or electronic). It shouldn”™t be postulated for publication in other magazines.
  2. The article should be written in Spanish. The complete paper should be submitted in word type.
  3. The article must show the following:
  • Format: The author should regard the following aspects: (a) spacing: 1.5; (b) typeface:

Times New Roman, size 12; (c) footnote: Times New Roman, size 10; (d) numbered pages; (e) justified paragraphs. The length shouldn”™t be less than 15 pages neither more than 25 pages (reference list included).

  • Paper Title: It should be written in Spanish and English
  • Author”™s personal information: It should contain the following information: (a) author”™s name, (b) institutional affiliation and (c) electronic address.
  • Summary: Its length must be between 150 and 250 words. It must be written in one or many paragraphs in Spanish and English, with the corresponding key words (4 to 10). The summary should show the following parts: (a) theme, (b) methodology, (c) development and (d) conclusions.
  • Content: In general, the scientific article should show the following parts: (a) introduction, (b) methodology and resources, (c) results, (d) discussion, (e) conclusions and (f) references. It is recommended to communicate the work according to each author”™s investigation needs. This has a main purpose: the work results can be expressed with as much clarity as possible. Authors should follow APA style (6th edition) for the visualization data format. In this case, it should be regarded the referred information in Tables and Figures.
  • Writing: The writer should follow academic style. That means that colloquial expressions and speech markers should be avoided. The author must bear in mind the following aspects: (a) Spanish current norms, (b) well-constructed syntactic phrases, (c) appropriate use of connectors and discursive markers, (d) the paragraphs must at least have three sentence periods; and other formal features in writing.
  • Article titles: They should be written regarding the following guides:

          1.1 Subparagraph (indented heading, boldfaced, at the beginning in upper case and the rest in lower case.)

                      1.1.1 Inferior Subparagraph (indented heading, in italics, at the beginning in upper case and the rest in lower case.)

                              Other divisions (with indentation, bulleted, regular times new roman script, at the beginning in upper case and                                the rest in lower case)

  1. Add the author”™s academic biography to the publication proposal: This text should basically contain the following information: (a) institutional affiliation, (b) academic degrees, (c) publications and (d) career background (academic associations affiliation, prizes, academic position or others of cultural matters). This must not exceed 200 words.
  2. Source citations and references should be written following APA style (6th edition).

ARBITRATION SYSTEM

  1. Studium Veritatis is a magazine that is submitted to the arbitration of anonymous revision system by peers (peer review), which means that each article will be revised and evaluated anonymously by experts in the field. These will evaluate the theme approach and the intellectual ideas presented in the articles, as well as the content value with respect to other articles or papers related to the same topic.
  2. The judges”™ evaluation can be of three types: (a) favorable judgment, (b) unfavorable judgment and (c) judgment with observations. In this last case, the observations to the paper will be immediately communicated by the editor to the author, who should reply in no longer than a 10-day deadline. If the editor receives no reply within the deadline, it will be taken for granted that the author has declined to publish his article in the magazine.
  3. The author”™s reply to the observations will be presented to the panel of judges and to the

EDITORIAL COMMITTEE, who should submit their evaluation in no longer than a 15-day deadline. Their decision can only be either (a) favorable or (b) unfavorable.

GUIDELINES FOR THE SUBMISSION OF ARTICLES FOR THE MAGAZINE

SECTIONS

Interview section

  1. The interview should be between five and 10 pages long.
  2. A summary in Spanish and English (200 to 300 words) with its corresponding keywords should be added. This synthesis should show the theme or explain the value of the interviewee, the purpose and the conversation contribution.
  3. The interview should contain images (JPG, high resolution) that illustrate the theme or the interviewee. The inclusion of images in this section will depend upon the editor and the editorial committee”™s judgment.

Review section

  1. The review should be a minimum of four pages and a maximum of seven pages. Don”™t forget to annotate the source complete information (author, title, city of publication, editorial and number of pages).
  2. The reviewed source cover should be submitted in a separate JPG file.
